Jenny Ray - Apprenticeship in Retail Operations at Level 2

After leaving school with low qualifications and becoming a mum at a young age, Jenny Ray was determined to turn her life around and become an inspiration for her young son. Jenny had been employed by Comet as an administrator for a year and felt that sales was more of a fit for her positive and outgoing personality. Her commitment and ability to listen also convinced Comet and she was moved to the position of Sales Administrator and signed up with JHP Training on a Retail Operations Apprenticeship.

During her Apprenticeship, Jenny was involved in a wide variety of different aspects of the retail environment and was able to select units based on the responsibilities of her job role. Her up-beat personality and desire to help customers meant that her Apprenticeship was tailored towards the public-facing aspects of the retail industry, particularly customer service and advising on customer needs.

Having completed her Apprenticeship within 12 months, Jenny now feels confident in her employment and is looking to work her way into a higher position within the company. Her commitment to her job role and qualification has certainly paid off and Jenny is soon to start as a Sales Manager in Comet’s next-generation management programme with JHP Training delivering a Retail Sales Professional Advanced Apprenticeship.

Jenny is certainly an inspiration, not only to her son but also to her employer and colleagues and is well on her way to achieving her goal of reaching the top of her chosen profession. On her Apprenticeship experience so far, Jenny commented:

“I am now a more outgoing person and feel more confident which helps the level of customer service I give. I have also noticed that since doing my Apprenticeship, my sales figures have improved which benefits me and my employer.

I feel that my Apprenticeship has given me a goal in life. It has made me realise that with hard work and effort on my part, I can achieve my goal to become a leader. Dedication and hard work will see me achieve all I want out of life."
