National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)

NVQs are 'competence-based' qualifications which mean you learn practical, work-related tasks designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to do a job effectively.

The main part of completing an NVQ involves collecting evidence of your everyday tasks and completing a series of units, some mandatory, some optional, but all will count towards your NVQ portfolio.

NVQs are available to adults and young people alike and are appropriate if you already have skills and want to improve them, or alternatively, if you are looking for a new challenge and starting from scratch.
