Just three minutes walk from Milton Keynes shopping centre, our JHP Business Centre is accessible to all and ideally placed to offer a range of quality training services. Our premises in Medina House (opposite the Law Courts) are modern and very well equipped with dedicated suites for Information Technology, conferences and meetings and specialised training rooms and interview areas. Above all our staff are supportive, caring, experienced and qualified with a sincere aim of making training both effective and enjoyable.
JHP MK currently have over 250 learners in the workplace following Apprenticeships, twenty on our Entry to Employment programme and we deliver private training to a great many more learners from local employers. After receiving a new 'Basic Skills in the Workplace' contract, we are in an even better position to design & deliver new courses - there is already considerable business interest and we are preparing a new range of effective training resources that will soon be available.
A recent winner in a national awards competition has beaten personal health problems and a further 130 nominees to win himself a First Prize and gain recognition for his training achievements.
Simon Lewis, 22, a learner with JHP Milton Keynes, was nominated for the award due to the outstanding efforts he made in gaining an Accountancy Apprenticeship despite dealing with the symptoms, undiagnosed at the time, of Crohns Disease.
Whilst training at work Simon impressed his Assessor and employer so much that he was nominated for the national awards. His determination to pursue his qualification and overcome personal issues set him apart from many of the other nominees and he was invited to receive his award at a Ceremony held at JHP Training's HQ in Coventry.
The JHP Training Learner Awards were launched to recognise the personal achievements of vocational trainees from across the UK and Simon deservedly won the title of 'JHP Learner of the Year for the South Region' walking away with a prize of £500 worth of Currys gift vouchers and a very pleased look on his face!
Two e2e learners at JHP Training show off their hidden artistic talent
At JHP Milton Keynes, we're convinced that to be effective, learning has to be fun. So we do our best to make our e2e programme as engaging and exciting as we can, and sometimes that means inviting some special guests in to give a creative edge to our training.
Amy Marter and Kayleigh Birch started their e2e programme at JHP back in August 2004, and were particularly interested in a workshop delivered by a visiting professional artist. A project soon developed - to design and produce a mural for the reception area in the Business Centre - and the girls soon got to work, with help from the artist.
Amy and Kayleigh did all the painting themselves, and the result, I'm sure you agree, is very impressive - in fact it's been a talking point for every visitor to the Centre since it was put up! JHP MK think the two girls both deserve a resounding grade 'A' for Art!
