JHP Training is one of the largest training providers in the county, specialising across a wide range of training programmes.
With two successful Business Centres JHP Leeds is a major force in the provision of vocational qualifications in West Yorkshire, delivering programmes to a multitude of organisations of varying sizes and industry sectors.
We deliver quality provision to companies of all sizes, from small start-up businesses to multi-site Blue Chip organisations, with the same degree of success. JHP Halifax is a relatively new Centre, which specialise in our ‘Young Mums To Be’ programme.
What's New In JHP West Yorkshire
Success in Leeds as JHP gains its first eNVQ
Claire Williamson, an employee at UKI, has become the first successful completer of an eNVQ with JHP Training. Breaking with all previous vocational learning methods, Claire was able to take advantage of eNVQ’s ground-breaking system and complete her Apprenticeship in Administration online.
Bringing a breath of fresh air to the achievement of vocational qualifications, eNVQ has grown from strength to strength in JHP Training since UKI was chosen to pilot the scheme last year. eNVQ has now become a major feature for staff progression within UKI, as more and more staff take to their computers and create a portfolio of training over the internet.
The rapid success of eNVQ is not without good reason. Learners at UKI have been commending a system which saves time, increases motivation and encourages creativity, as candidates upload submissions and witness testimonies across a wide range of multimedia. And Managers are finding eNVQ has valuable advantages too. Email contact between learner, supervisor and assessor is making for greater efficiency and productivity in the workplace, providing effective training without the need for purchasing expensive software. JHP Leeds learner named as the face of the LSC
Local girl Tanya Roberts has been handpicked by the Learning and Skills Council to be the forefront of their National Marketing campaign. Recently having completed an Apprenticeship in Administration, Tanya is continuing to learn with JHP Leeds as she takes on an Advanced Apprenticeship.
A valuable member of the Enact workforce and one of our recent success stories, Tanya left school without any GCSEs or work experience, but has managed to overcome difficulties and successfully gain a position within one of Leeds’ most prestigious companies. So watch out for Tanya, as she will be featuring on the cover of the 2005 Learning Provider Directory.

Train to Gain
JHP Training is an Equal Opportunities employer and, in addition to our programmes for 16-19 year olds, we also offer free qualifications under a new Employer Training Pilot in West Yorkshire. ‘Train to Gain’ is available to employees aged 19-65 with 5 GCSEs or fewer, aims to increase their effectiveness in the workplace by gaining an NVQ Level 2 in a variety of employment areas, and is completely free of charge.
Young Mums To Be
In conjunction with Huddersfield Technical College, JHP Halifax deliver a programme aimed at pregnant girls aged 16-18. ‘Young Mums To Be’ has been designed to give individuals the information, skills and abilities not just to become good parents, but also to consider options in employment, education or training for the future.
Since the programme began, we have witnessed many proud Young Mums begin to realise their full potential, by embarking on college courses, further training or starting new careers.
Entry To Employment
For those young people who are not quite ready to embark upon further education or a career, JHP Training is pleased to offer the e2e programme. Through e2e, JHP Training builds young people's confidence and helps them to achieve their goals by giving them the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities – indoor, outdoor and in the workplace.
Young Parents Programme
The Young Parents Programme helps young parents prepare for the birth of their baby and also to improve their literacy, numeracy and job search techniques to prepare them to return to work.
